Mona Awad nearly sent me into a reading slump this month with her ‘Bunny’ sequel, but I was lucky to have a couple of other good books to turn to.

Play Nice, Rachel Harrison

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A fun horror novel about demonic possession and what happens when women suddenly stop being nice at the cost of their own well-being. I read this in one go, a VERY rare thing to happen to me. I do love my bitches as MCs.

Making Money, Terry Pratchett

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Part two about Moist and his talents as a legally ‘reformed’ conman. Almost as fun as the first one.

Bunny, Mona Awad

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Re-read this insanity – in a good sense of the word – before reading the sequel. Still enjoyed it. If only I knew how bad things are about to get with book 2.

Raising Steam, Terry Pratchett

⭐️⭐️⭐️

The third and final novel (at least I think so) about Moist, which I found a bit of a letdown. Maybe it’s the fact that the vibes changed, or, most probably, the issue of the book featuring the MC for about three seconds and focusing on everyone else instead. And I liked these books specifically for the character, so.

We Love You, Bunny, Mona Awad

⭐️⭐️

I truly believe this sequel was, like, a flop of the decade, k? Seriously, Bunny, it is pique literary masturbation that exhausts you and makes you feel kinda Ouch for everybody involved. After my excitement died in agony around page 40, the rest of the book I kept thinking, to quote the Bunnies: What the fuck is this, please?

Trust, I could go on about this clusterfuck of an attempt at a masterpiece, but I’m, like, too dumb or too lazy – you pick which one it is, k, Bunny? – to waste another second on this.
